Nikon D500 Riverside Walk

This video was shot with the Nikon D5000 as a first test of a purchased camera. Earlier clips in the same location using a review loan camera had very bad wind noise; for this shoot, care was taken to try to shield the mic using my left hand. A tripod, AE lock, and for one shot a controlled focus pull (helped by attaching a rubber lens hood) were used.

DSLR video is well suited to this kind of sequence, where the movement within a static subject gives it more life than a slide show. The entire sequence could equally well be shown with a soundtrack. The iMovie effects are varied more for demonstration purposes than creative quality - all the video sequence actually needs is dissolves and fades. Jump cuts don't work well with natural sound, since iMovie dissolves and fades sound along with video, any graduated effect works well with camera sound.
