Thanks Ian good crit. It's the first time we've done anything like this, and I had no help scripting, or editing so I'm kind of pleased but I can see loads of flaws. Including me being static
Not sure what you mean about the scenes in the backdrop? Is that the shots in the news section on the plasma?

Hi Pete,
No, with the plasma and banner as a backdrop, it looked fairly good. I mean the opening scene with a plain backdrop as in the book ad etc. It makes it look as though you are doing it in a small room (which you may well be doing) as the presenter is too close to it and the shadows she casts as she is moving fore and aft are distracting.
If those scenes had have been done in front of the plasma, they would have looked better.

Now had time to take a second look, along with Shirley.
Firstly, it kept her attention throughout and she doesn't know her aperture from her elbow!
Yes, I can see flaws, but they're not disasterous. A fluid head will cure the jerky panning, while a box of chalk will enable the marking of the floor so you don't stick the tripod in the way of the subject while doing demos!
Matt's idea of a pro bag for a wildlife photographer is a bit wide of the mark. I have a Tamrac Expedition 7 and wish I'd got the 8! That would be about three times the size!
Having said that, the scripting was still pretty good. Have you thought about the long term problems of the Location guide? Or are you going to start travelling all over the country??
As I said though, you can certainly be proud of it as a first attempt and not too many folks could have done better. I'm sure you'll iron out the nits as time goes on.

As a hair & Beauty photographer i get lots of emails from potential photographers asking how i light the shots, how i retouch skin, where i find models and of course how do i make any money in this specialized part of the industry. This site will be a great opportunity to upload videos from a shoot so that people can see what a hair shoot is really like, there are no big secrets, and they will be able to see that " live".
Well done team, and of course it will only get better.

Whilst Emma made me feel 5 again (and that's not a bad thing), I really enjoyed her presentation, the content was interesting and informative - a good episode 1!

Pete & team - really enjoyed show will definitely come back - but (isn't there always a but!!) the only problem I had was the variable sound levels within & between items - missed a couple of bits as I was frantically reducing sound (others asleep around me) & then raising to catch the quiet bits.
Other than that - great 1st edition - looking forward to the next.

Hi Brian.
It's a problem that was reported during the beta testing but unfortunately there's nothing they can do about it.
I too live in a special place where a lot of the time I'm surrounding by sleeping inmates as I browse the web and I appreciate the inconvenience. Have you considered asking the nurse to increase the other inmates medication to ensure their silence during their embrace of Morpheus?

Lots to comment on: poor lighting for video, camera work is too often ropey, content OK but it's all let down by the production values (sorry I produce video for my work!!)

Most interesting. when will Pete be on QVC?
My favourite bits...Pete in a suit (looks like he's just come out of court), and 'plenty of tits', nice touch

OK, so that was the 1st episode. When is Episode 2 due? It's now over a month since this was posted!
Will it be a Monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or is it planned as an Annual to co-incide with Focus???
(Truth is, I'm just dying to see how fast you've improved??)

Lol, we're working on a second now. We are taking on board all feedback and hopefully the next will be better. We haven't decided on a frequency yet.

Wel Pete, I sure I'm not the only one looking forward to it!
I guess economics will be the deciding factor as to frequency but the anticipation wears off if it's too long. (But I bet you know that anyway!)

I enjoyed the video. However I felt the sound varied and was out of sync.

The only thing that really lets it down is the scenes in front of the backdrop, which look a little amateurish!
Oh, and Pete in a suit never looks comfortable.
And Pete in boots, trying to look like he's taking images without moving a muscle!
But apart from that
