Glad you liked the tutorial. All our tutorials are aimed at Photographers, amateurs and professional alike.

We actually have a dedicated DVD packed with videos on the subject of cars. You can check it out from the link below.

Thanks for the Info Barry, although with my photography, cars would just get in the way!! The tutorial is helpful in so many other spheres too though. I have already used the technique successfully.

Again, many thanks,

Ian

Brilliant, but how can the same be done in elements 6?

Use the same shift key technique, but instead of using a brush and a layer mask, which you cannot create in Elements 6, use the selection brush tool instead.

Use a soft brush and zoom in to your subject. Click right on the edge of where you want to select with the selection brush, then hold the shift key and use the technique described in the Blue Car video.

Once you have the outline, you can brush in the remainder of the selection. It may be marginally slower than Photoshop, but the quiality should be the same as long as you take care.

Excellent tutorial and many thanks for sharing this technique. I got an image of an old Ford Beauford here somewhere, and I shall be using this technique on that, and see what I can come up with.

Your tutorial was fascinating. I would love to be able to use this technique, but feel I am not that capable yet. I am much better reading & following instructions than listening and applying them. But, thank you so much for sharing. lb

We think you might just hang around to the end.

Sadly I did not. Too slow getting to the point and too long telling how good you are.
