And, while the consumer video market may well be suffering, I would hazard a guess that the upper end is on a slight increase due to the reduced costs of owning a high quality pro-spec unit. The costs coming down as the units become easier to manufacture as with flash media they have no moving parts in the record chain! In the ePHOTOzine TV Discussion forum.

I think it's got a long way to run yet Matt.
For sure, the use of multimedia, where stills, video, audio and graphics are combined to make a presentation, is on the increase, especially on the web.
Being able to combine those mediums in a single item of equipment, be it a stills camera doing video or a video camera doing stills must, for the manufacturers, be the way to go.
The technologies are converging, with HD video now being recorded to flash cards in many video... In the ePHOTOzine TV Discussion forum.

Well it looks like this feature is well and truly taking off. I've heard rumours that the video industry is failing due to the availablility of video in cameras and phones. Remains to be seen if it's true but it's certainly interesting that companies that make both would destroy one part of their company to promote another... In the ePHOTOzine TV Discussion forum.

I say its nice to have feedback, isn't it?
However feedback should not be just one way! As a paid up member and contributor I also appreciate feedback from the site! If the mod position is taken well a short and sweet message to tell me I am not needed is very polite and also If I upload a video in good faith and is rejected for whatever reason, then I expect nothing less than a short explanation of why even if its just an excuse but to be kept in the dark or plainly... When I bought my DSLR, a Fuji S3 Pro, I was disappointed to discover it didn't have a video function. I thought this was a cost-saving measure as similar Nikon and Canon models were more expensive. It wasn't until all this discussion about video in DSLRs cropped up that I realised DSLRs didn't have video and my reaction was "Why ever not?" I had previously used both Fuji S5000 and S7000, both of which included video and I found it very useful. I also liked the voice memo... In the ePHOTOzine TV Discussion forum.

I don't need it and it adds extra costs to the price of a camera. There should be two versions of the same camera, one with and one without the video capability so users can choose and save money. In the ePHOTOzine TV Discussion forum.

Hi, thanks for visiting the site. The EOS 450D is a higher specification than the EOS 1000D. The K200D is around the EOS 450D while the K-m is lower in spec but has some fun features. The Pentax have dust alert which will show you where the dust is on the sensor so you can decide if it needs shaking.
Take a look at the written reviews on ephotozine.com for sample images. :) In the ePHOTOzine TV Discussion forum.

Hi All
I am thinking about buying a DSLR and have seen reviews on here which are really great .I was wondering if the members had a choice between cameras that i am looking at ,which one's would they choose . Canon 450D or the 1000D and the other two are a bit less expensive Pentax 200D or the K-m.
Thank you for any advice
